I’m Pau, a documentary family photographer based in Haarlem, just a few minutes from Bloemendaal. I photograph families in the dunes of Zuid-Kennemerland, on the beach at Bloemendaal aan Zee, in the woods of Elswout or simply at home.

Do you charge travel costs to Bloemendaal?
No. Sessions in Bloemendaal, Overveen, Aerdenhout and Bloemendaal aan Zee have no travel costs.
When is the best time for a beach or dune session?
Late afternoon, about one to two hours before sunset. In summer that means the evening, in winter the early afternoon. Spring and autumn give the softest light.
What if it’s windy or raining?
Wind is part of the coast: we use the shelter of the dunes or the woods of Elswout. If it rains, we move your session to a new date at no cost.
Where do we meet?
I send you a meeting point beforehand, always close to parking and easy with little kids and buggies.
What should we wear?
I’ll send you a guide. For the beach and dunes: soft, neutral colours, layers, and shoes the kids can easily take off.
My kids won’t sit still. Is that a problem?
Not at all. I photograph them as they are: running, digging and exploring.
