These images were created for Wayfinder, the workshop for female entrepreneurs that I built together with Annie Peutrell from The Serious Sofa. We wanted the photos to tell one story: a woman on her way to finding answers about her brand and her business.
Telling a story, not just taking photos
Instead of classic promotional pictures, we created a small visual narrative: moments of doubt, reflection, searching and, finally, clarity. We worked around Haarlem, finding the perfect spots to connect with the story and the message we wanted to convey.
This is what I love most about storytelling photography: every image is part of a message, so the workshop’s promotion felt honest and personal, not like an ad.
Finding your way as an entrepreneur
As an entrepreneur myself, I know it’s not always easy or clear what the next step is. Sometimes, though, it comes to you as clear as it can be, and you only need to take those steps and move forward.
I am on a journey of rediscovering my path, and I’m not ashamed to say so. I believe it’s always good to question myself and make time to reflect on the answers I might already have inside.
The B side we don’t share
Sometimes we’re expected to have all the answers, and I see so many entrepreneurs trying to show an image of self-composure all the time. I can’t help but wonder, as Carrie would say, what’s going on on the B side, the one they don’t share.
So, if you’re struggling, I’d love to hear about it. Not that I love that you’re struggling, but I appreciate the fight and the doubts. Let’s share this part of the road together 🙂
